Hi, I'm Elaine.
I'm a user experience and interaction designer who uses play as a medium. I recently graduated with my Master of Fine Arts degree in Media Design Practices from ArtCenter College of Design, and have a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Information Engineering from Beihang University.
With an interest in topics such as mental health, emotions, intersectional feminism and post-colonialism, and a practice that uses play as a medium, my work moves in between a spectrum of playful and serious.
I enjoy using humor, storytelling, game design and various methods that spark imagination in order to create experiences that evoke emotions, challenge perceptions, offer diverse perspectives, and encourage communication, connection, and community.
I am curious and passionate about video games and interactive media, and the ways that playful media can be applied in the other aspects of our lives. In addition to having passion for these topics, I deeply appreciate studying and questioning concepts from different disciplines, and in order to satisfy my own curiosity, can often be found asking my closest friends a RQOTD (random question of the day)!
